Matt Wecker
Founder and Chief Science Officer of GeneBiologics, LLC.
Matt is passionate about driving science toward sustainable goals. His forté is in developing methods and systems for the selection and screening of large molecular- and organism-based libraries. Matt received undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA; a Masters degree in Food Science from Cornell University; and a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. He worked with Ed Krebs at HHMI in Seattle WA, and previously worked as a senior scientist at NeXstar Pharmaceuticals (Boulder), and Invenux, Inc (Denver). He currently contracts with the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) in Golden, CO on wastewater valorization and hydrogen sensor/hydrogen production systems and is working with NREL on developing the NAB and EPASS technologies. He is an avid backpacker and market gardener.
